The Fourth of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July in Salt Lake.  It's always great to be with family on the holidays, and we can't quite seem to stay away!   Here's Grandma Jane with all 7 of her grandkids.

We always like to start out the day at the East Millcreek parade.  It's a cute little neighborhood parade with homemade floats.  The kids love all of the candy that gets thrown their way!

That night we had a BBQ at Grandma and Grandpa Hanson's house.  The kids played games in the yard and rode bikes while they waited for the big fireworks show.

When dark came the fireworks started.  We always do our own show rather than going to a park somewhere.  Chad and his brothers and his Dad love doing fireworks, and it was like Christmas morning for them.  It's fun to see grown men with silly grins on their faces as their pyromanic side comes out!

We had a great holiday with family and friends.  I love the 4th of July not only because of the fun times and good food, but because it is a reminder of how blessed we are to live in this great country.  I'm truly proud to be an American!
