School, Labor Day, and Savannah's Birthday

I have been out of the blogging world for a while, but life hasn't slowed down so now I have a lot to catch up on!

Sarah and Savannah started school on August 31st. Sarah is in the 4th grade, and her teacher is Ms. White. Savannah is in the 1st grade, and her teacher is Mrs. McCloud. They both love school and seem to be learning a lot already.

First Day of School 2009

One week after school started we went to Salt Lake for the Labor Day weekend, and we were able to squeeze in a lot of fun activities. One day we went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. The kids had so much fun looking at exhibits, and even getting some hands-on fun. Grandma Karen and Grandma Jane came with us, as well as Uncle Devin, Aunt Lenna, Jake and Grace.

Playing in the sand and water table.

Grandma Karen and Dad got in on the fun too.

Digging for bones with Jake and Grace.

We also got to see some of the beautiful gardens at Thanksgiving Point. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed the sunshine and the beautiful scenery.

While we were in Salt Lake we also spent a day at the Hogle Zoo. Before we even got through the gates Andrew found something that he really loved. That boy has an eye for anything with wheels!

It was hard to tell who was more interested--the kids or the monkeys!

One of our favorite animals was the new baby giraffe. So cute!

On September 23rd we had another big event--our sweet Savannah turned 7! We were lucky enough to have Grandma Karen and Grandpa Rocky come up to visit us for her birthday, and we really had a great day.

Savannah got a new Nintendo DS for her birthday.

She chose a "Scooby Doo" cake.

She also got a twister game, which Emily and Andrew really enjoyed!

While we had Grandpa and Grandma here we went on another fun adventure. We rode a train called the "Thunder Mountain Railroad" from Horseshoe Bend up to Banks. It was a beautiful ride, and we even had some train robbers! It was another great day!
